How to read a formula. Degrees counted from the root against the major scale: b3 is a lowered third, #4 a raised fourth, bb7 a doubly lowered seventh. The semitone list gives the same scale as half steps from the root (0 = root).
A mode is a scale started from another degree of its parent: Dorian is the major scale from its 2nd note. Modes are listed under their parent with the degree they start on.
